EASTEND CREDIT UNION IS CONVERTING ITS BANKING SYSTEM SEPTEMBER 17-20

The information in this letter affects all Eastend Credit Union members in your household

Conversion Readiness

*Have alternate payment methods available, including cash, credit cards and cheques to carry you throughout the conversion weekend-there is a chance your debit card may not work those days.

*Remember to make last minute bill payments in advance of the conversion weekend.

*Complete special in-branch transactions such as travelers’ cheques, money orders, foreign currency and bank drafts prior to conversion weekend.

Cheques and Cards

*The cheques and cards you currently hold will function after conversion as they do today.  No action is required.

*The account numbers you have today will stay the same after conversion.

Automatic Payments/Transfers and Pre-Authorized Transactions

*All pre-authorized transfers and payments between accounts currently set up at the Credit Union will continue to operate and be processed normally.  This includes loan payments.

Member Correspondence

*Statements, loan notices and Term Deposit maturity information will have a new look and feel.  You will receive your statements with the same frequency as you do today.

Note: All members will receive a statement with a September 17 cut-off date.  Members with a September 23 statement will then not receive another statement until October 23 for this one instance only.  Members with a month end cut-off will receive their statement at the end of September.  After October 23, regular statement frequency will resume.

Internet Banking

*After conversion weekend (Sept 17-20), when you first access Internet (Member Direct) Banking, you will need to use a temporary PAC  (Personal Access Code).  After signing in with the temporary PAC for the first time, follow the instructions on screen to select your own PAC.

*Future-dated bill payments you have created on Member Direct will continue to process as per your instructions, except for any bills scheduled September 17, 18, 19 and 20th.  Please ensure that these payments are taken at an alternate date.

*Download or print off an account history from Member Direct as close to our conversion date as possible, as your history will not carry over to the new system.

Why Change?

Although our values have remained constant, our world has not.  To stay current in today’s rapidly changing marketplace, we must be willing to embrace change.  Although our existing software has met our needs for twelve years, a more flexible banking system is required to meet the challenges of new initiatives and to support long-term growth of our credit union.

The new system, adopted by Eastend and the majority of Credit Unions in western Canada, fully integrates in-branch and Internet banking and provides a consolidated view of members’ existing accounts and products.

*****

The Eastend Credit Union is converting to a new banking system September 17-20.  One of the changes due to this conversion will affect our current E-Statement functionality.  Currently when you log in to Member Direct you have access to 13 months worth of past E-Statements.

After September 17 you will no longer have access to your previous E-Statements.  If you will require access to these statements after this date, we are advising that you either print them off or save them to your computer before our conversion starts on September 17.

You will receive a paper statement with a cutoff date of September 17.   Then from that date going forward, E-Statements will be available to you just as they are today, except there will be no statements available before September 17.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter or our upcoming conversion, please feel free to contact any of our staff.

Thank you very much.
